Knit Simple Seed Stitch, Easy Knitting Stitches
Learn to knit simple seed stitch, a basic stocking stitch or stockinette background with little bumps that add texture.
The simple seed stitch is a textured stitch using a combination of only purl and knit stitches. No additional stitch technique is needed.
Knitting stitches are grouped according to the type of pattern and fabric they create.
A simple seed stitch is a textured, compact stitch. It is sometimes referred to as a fabric stitch. It is a stockinette stitch interspersed with purl stitches, knit over 8 rows – that is all it is. The wrong side of your work looks similar to that of stockinette stitch, making it a non-reversible pattern.
