HOW TO CROCHET THE GRANNY BORDER
Join the contrasting yarn in one corner of the blanket with a slip stitch;
Round 1: Corner: Ch2 (first stitch), dc2, ch2, dc3 in same stitch;
Straight: Ch2, skip 2 stitches, dc3 in next st,
Repeat the sequence and close first round with a ss;
Rounds 2 & 3: Corners are done the same as in round 1;
Straight: Ch2, dc3 in ch2-space of previous round,
Repeat the sequence and close first round with a ss;
The decorative border consists of:
Slip stitch in first ch2-space, dc3, ch3 with ss into bottom of first ch (to form picot), dc3, ss in next ch2-space;
Repeat the above sequence around;
Corners: only a ss – to prevent overlap. You can decorate the corners with tassels or picot stitches.
