Free and Easy Baby Bandana Bib Crochet Pattern (granny Stitch)
Has it happened to you too? The urge to create something at the oddest times? My baby bandana bib crochet pattern was whipped up in one of those moments!
Unbelievably, we were on our way to the airport, to drop off our daughter and her then 5-month-old girl, and grandma wanted to make something special for her to take home.
I had to keep the baby bib because I needed to replicate the pattern!
Enough of my story. You will enjoy this quick project that makes the perfect gift and can be made with leftover cotton yarn.

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS
ch – chain
ch 1-sp
dc – double crochet
fpsc – front post double crochet
sc – single crochet
slst – slip stitch
st – stitch
sts – stitches
SPECIAL STITCHES
Front Post Single Crochet (fpsc):
The fpsc is worked around the post (of the stitch) of the previous row. Insert the hook vertically from the right, under the post of the stitch of the previous row and hook out on the left of the stitch yo, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Yo, pull through all 2 loops – see the tutorial below.
GAUGE AND SIZE
Hook and tension may differ.
With the listed yarn and hook, the top of my bib measures 21cm (8″) across and from the top to the tip of the triangle it measures 17cm (6.5″) (length). Easily adjust the length by adding more rows.
NOTES TO CLARIFY
- The ch2 made at the beginning of each row counts as the first stitch of the row.
- To ensure a smooth edge, your last stitch should be worked into the top of the ch2 from the previous row.
