Let’s have a look at what makes the world of difference on garments and will turn ‘drab’ into ‘fab’!
Buttons
Googie Momma
The tutorial for the lovely picnic blanket dress is an easy how-to-make-your-own-pattern from-an-old-dress-idea!
The ants made with little buttons are too stinking cute.

Sew Girly Studio
The blogger gained inspiration from two other sources to make the tucked top. The multi-coloured buttons add an unique finishing touch.
Click here for a tutorial on how to create the tucks.

Lace
Lace in-lays
Unfortunately, the link to this romper is not available anymore. The contrast between the black and white is very striking. The delicateness of the lace softens the dark colours, making it a perfect example of the possibilities of the addition of lace.

Simplicity
There are many patterns for rompers, but the vintage one of Simplicity looks more tailored and professional.

Hand stitching/Embroidery
Purl Soho
The tutorial by Purl Soho links to the pattern to make the gorgeous embroidered jumper, which I can tell, is very easy. The pattern is for 6 or 12-month old babies.

Embroidered T-shirt
It is amazing how a t-shirt is transformed into something unique with a single blanket stitch.

Applique
The Zulily dress with the appliqued handbag and buttoned-sling (below, left) is out of stock. However, to achieve the same look will not be difficult. Unfortunately, the Etsy shop that advertised the appliqued t-shirt (below, right), is not open anymore. Note how the running stitch accentuates the outlines of the turtle.

Machine Embroidery Applique
The Cinderella carriage applique design turns a plain t-shirt into a Princess top! Use the machine applique design from Itch to Stitch to make something similar.
Tip: If you have an embroidery program, substitute the monogram with the age or name of the child!

Contrast & Color
The dress pattern used to be on Etsy unfortunately, it is not available anymore. It is so striking with the different colors and the buttons!

Color Accents
What a lovely look she created with the contrasting color in the bias, buttons and bow! Unfortunately, the link to the blog is no longer working.
